Here is a Caracas cake, made for a friend's birthday. It's fun to do these simpler cakes once in a while, so I can experiment with different decorating techniques other than fondant.

Baptism

I made this cake for a staff member at my school last weekend. She wanted a chocolate cake covered in almond paste for a little girl's baptism, so I made just that and had fun designing the rest. Placing all those little flowers was so mundane but I was really happy with the final result :)

My classes are coming to an end... I officially have 5 days left until I start my stage then graduate! It's crazy how time flies, it feels like we started pastry school just a few short months ago. It's been one of the greatest things I've accomplished so far and I'm so lucky to have done it at such a great school with the greatest people. I'm sure I'll be crying when we graduate.. mostly because that means I need to find a full-time job and start my REAL adult life. Scary.

Anyways, here are a few orders I did last week. There was a lot of fondant prep involved, which I always put off till the last minute :p
